Truth – you are at a weird age and most adult have forgotten what that is like – it’s real to you – ‘don’t worry you will get through it’ – adults patronize you a lot – here is a true secret – middle school is the roughest time you will be going through – everyone wants you to feel bad about yourself or at least that what it feels like

Peak Education Mentor Mentee Reception

reception-05Peak Education hosted a reception at the Sonterra Grill in Colorado Springs celebrating the successful accomplishments of all those participating in the College and Career Mentoring Program. College-bound juniors and seniors receive on-going assistance throughout the year with applying for college, scholarships, and financial aid. Their mentors are business people from Biggs-Kofford, Lockheed-Martin, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters who volunteered their time helping the students navigate this unfamiliar and sometimes daunting process.… Read the rest

One of the components in Family Engagement is a visit to the home of the families of students in Peak Education. Jon Stepleton is Peak Education’s CEO

jonx300Peak Education board chair Steven Mullens has announced the permanent appointment of Jon Stepleton, a journalist and long-time civic and nonprofit leader, as CEO.  Stepleton has held the position on an interim basis since January, following the departure of former CEO Dee Beaudette. “Jon Stepleton brings a wealth of community connections and knowledge of what our students and their families need from us to help them achieve breakthroughs in their lives,” Mullens said.  … Read the rest
