Peak Education hosted a reception at the Sonterra Grill in Colorado Springs celebrating the successful accomplishments of all those participating in the College and Career Mentoring Program. College-bound juniors and seniors receive on-going assistance throughout the year with applying for college, scholarships, and financial aid. Their mentors are business people from Biggs-Kofford, Lockheed-Martin, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters who volunteered their time helping the students navigate this unfamiliar and sometimes daunting process.
The purpose of the Mentoring Program is to assist students with determining their career path and apply to higher education programs that help them reach their goals. By establishing a college-going culture, mentors help students remain on track and stay focused on their goals. Mentors continue to support their students through their freshman year in college.
Among the attendees were Peak Education Board members and staff, students and families, and the dedicated community members and business people who spent 500+ hours collectively mentoring our students.
Steve Mullens, Board President and Co-Founder of Peak Education, congratulated the students on their accomplishments and challenged them to ‘give back’ to the community that enriched their lives.
Congratulations and Thanks to all for a year of hard work and success!!
